Tanzania Hughie is a South Bronx Native and has been passionate about youth development and ‘The Arts’ since she was thirteen years old. Ms. Hughie is a graduate of The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and an alumnus of Virginia Commonwealth University. Tanzania has used her experience in management to develop performing arts programs. She used her skills to engage with programs teaching; leadership and management, course planning, choreography techniques, performance arts, acting, and variant genres of dance. Tanzania is currently a published writer, working actress, screenwriter, and film producer using her voice and art to influence culture in politics and social justice. Tanzania’s philosophy is that art reflects the culture of our world and it’s important that we never take the artists' creativity away.
